Truck Driver Charged in Fatal Houston Crash

Police have arrested a truck driver on drunk driving charges following a fatal accident in southwest Houston on Sunday.

Father of Four Killed in Fatal Trucking Accident

According to KTRK, father of four Adrian Garcia was killed Sunday night after being hit by a suspected drunk driver operating a tractor-trailer.

Investigators believe that the truck driver, Willie James Johnson, Jr., ran a red light at the intersection of Cook Road and Beecher Street and collided with Garcia’s Chevy Tahoe. Garcia was less than half a mile from his home when the accident occurred.

Johnson has been arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter. Further investigation revealed that Johnson also has a criminal history.

Court records show that Johnson has previous convictions, including possession of illicit drugs, criminal mischief, evading arrest and having a weapon on school grounds.
