Truck Driver Charged With Manslaughter

A Connecticut truck driver could face up to seven years in prison for failing to stop his Freightliner tractor-trailer at a busy intersection and causing a deadly accident.

Trucker Ran Red Light, Crashed into Victim

The accident happened in April 2011. According to witnesses, the Connecticut truck driver passed through a busy intersection 5 seconds after the light had turned red. At this point the victim, a 21-year-old woman, had proceeded to make a left turn into the intersection. The 18-wheeler struck the victim’s vehicle, causing her to crash into another car. The woman sustained head injuries and died later at the hospital. The truck driver faces the following charges:
