Turkey Burgers Recalled – Salmonella Poisoning
According to U.S. officials, over 56,000 pounds of Jennie-O Turkey Store frozen turkey burgers have been recalled due to 12 cases of salmonella poisoning throughout 10 states. The last illness was reported on March 14, 2011.
What Is Included in the Jennie-O Recall?
This recall includes 4-pound boxes of Jennie-O Turkey Store “All Natural Turkey Burgers with Seasonings, Lean White Meat.” The boxes contain individually wrapped, 1/3-lb turkey burgers and were boxed on November 23rd, 2010. Lot codes include “32710” through “32780” with a use-by date of December 23, 2011.
While the boxes were shipped worldwide, we do know that consumers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio and Washington have already been affected by the contaminated product.
