A three-vehicle accident sent multiple people to the hospital in Corpus Christi.

KRISTV News in Corpus Christi is reporting that three vehicles were involved in an accident that happened early Monday morning on the 3200 block of Saratoga Street near Kostoryz Road.

According to Lieutenant Church Freeman of the Corpus Christi Police Department, two vehicles were driving in the middle lane when a black KIA rear-ended a maroon pickup truck and forced it into the right lane where it then hit and SUV.

A total of three people were injured in the accident. One passenger in the KIA was taken to the hospital and two people from the SUV were also taken to the hospital, including a 5-year-old child.

The child sustained facial injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation, but no citations have been issued at this time.
