Two Dead in Austin Drunk Driving Accident

A suspected drunk driver is facing two counts of murder after hitting a crowd of pedestrians outside of an Austin, Texas night club. The collision left two people dead and 23 injured – five critically.

  • At 12:30 a.m. CT a gray Toyota Sedan ran through a barricade near the Mohawk night club in Austin,Texas.
  • NBC News reports that the driver of the vehicle was trying to evade police at the time of the accident.
  • Police say they had stopped the driver for a traffic violation when the driver fled down the wrong way of a one-way street.
  • The driver then turned onto Red River St., which was barricaded at the time, and ran into the gathered crowd of pedestirans.
  • Police had to use a stun gun to subdue the driver of the vehicle.
  • The names of the two deceased an the driver have not been released.
