Details about the Katy Accident

KHOU News is reporting that two people were injured after two vehicles were involved in an accident with a wrecker that was attempting to help a drunk driver on the Katy Freeway during the overnight hours.

According to the Houston Police Department, the accident happened at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday near Highway 6. At the time of the accident, the driver of the wrecker was heading west on the Katy Freeway when he found an SUV that was completely stopped in the middle of the roadway. The driver turned on his lights and was attempting to flag away drivers as they were coming down the roadway until the police could arrive.

A man driving a Nissan sedan did not see the wrecker and slammed into the back end of it, spinning around and causing another vehicle to slam into the sedan.

The driver of the SUV was not injured but was arrested for driving under the influence. The driver of the wrecker was not injured in the accident.
