Two Killed in Car Accident in Weyers Cave

A recent report from WHSV 3 News says two people died Monday morning after a serious car crash in Weyers Cave, VA.

Details of the Fatal Crash

Virginia State Police (VSP) responded to a serious car crash on Monday morning that left two people dead. The accident happened around 8:00 a.m. on Lee Highway and College Lane just outside of Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, VA.

According to reports, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado swerved to avoid a vehicle that had stopped in the center turn lane. The Silverado crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Geraldine K. Sprouse, 65 has been identified as the driver of the Silverado. Nicholas R. Broce, 33, was the driver of the Cavalier.

VSP told reporters that neither driver was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred. Speed and alcohol are not suspected factors.
