Two people were killed when they crashed their Jeep into a fighter jet while evading police.

Details about the Fatal Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that two people were killed when they were fleeing from police, made their way onto an air force base, and then slammed their SUV into a fighter jet at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore.

According to police, the pursuit began in King’s County and was called off for safety reasons by police when the driver went against traffic on highway 198. The chase was picked up again when the vehicle returned to the westbound lanes on 198 and entered Naval Air Station Lemoore through an entry control point. At this point, it is not currently known how the vehicle made it past the armed security gate.

The jeep was then spotted by a helicopter that was aiding in the search. The vehicle made it several miles into the before the Jeep collided with a parked strike fighter jet. The driver of the vehicle, a male, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger, a female, was killed in the accident.

At this time, the condition of the fighter jet is unknown.
