Two Men Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run in Hamden

Authorites are searching for a hit-and-run motorist that struck two pedestrians in Hamden.

Details About the Hit-and-Run Accident

Just before 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, a car struck two men and then left the scene of the accident. The men were crossing Dixwell Avenue near Robert Street, according to police.

The driver of the car stopped momentarily, just before fleeing south down Dixwell Avenue.

According to Fox 61 News, police have described the vehicle involved in the accident as an older red or orange sedan, possibly with four doors, which may be either a Saturn or a Nissan Altima. The car vehicle may have damage to the front end or the front windshield.

Dixwell Avenue was closed as part of the police investigation into the scene of the accident but has since been reopened.

Both of the victims, whose names have not yet been identified, were transported to Yale-New Hospital with serious injuries.
