Jonathan Hernandez9 months ago

The Bradenton Herald is reporting that two men were killed early Wednesday morning when the driver of the car ran a red light and crashed into the side of a tractor-trailer on U.S. 301, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Details about the Fatal Accident

At around 2:50 a.m., 29-year-old Kenneth Jackson of Palmetto, was heading north on U.S. 301 when he approached the intersection of 63rd Avenue East and entered into the intersection without stopping for a red light, colliding with a tractor-trailer that was pulling other trailers and attempting to turn left from southbound U.S. 301 onto 63rd Avenue.

The car hit the side of the truck’s first trailer, then went underneath the trailer and continued through the center median and entered into the southbound lanes of the interstate. The car then came to a final rest on the west shoulder of the interstate facing northwest.

Jackson and his passenger, 25-year-old Daniel Carter of Sarasota, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the truck, a 62-year-old man from Georgia was not injured.

Florida Highway Patrol revealed that they are waiting tests results on Jackson’s blood to determine whether or not he had been drinking.
