Two people in Florida have died after they were hit by a dump truck in a freak accident on Thursday night.

Details about the Accident involving the Dump Truck

According to WOKV News, two people in their 20s from Jacksonville were killed in a freak accident in Palm Coast on Thursday night.

The Florida State Highway patrol has said that Kevin Walsh was attempting to drive his pickup truck through a construction zone in the Forest Grove Drive area and became stuck in a patch of soft dirt.

Walsh then called some friends to come and help him get his truck out of the dirt, when a construction worker nearby was asked if he could use his Mack dump truck to attempt to free Walsh from the dirt.

When the driver attempted to back up the truck, he didn’t see Walsh standing there with his friend, Jessica Darby. Both Walsh and Jessica Darby were hit by the truck and were killed at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck, who is from Port Orange, was taken to the hospital and treated for chest pains after the accident.

The Florida Highway patrol report from the crash indicates that charges are pending after a more thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
