Two people died and a young girl was sent to the hospital after a recreational vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler.

Details about the RV Accident

KVAL is reporting that two people died and a child was injured and sent to the hospital after their RV crashed into the back of a semi-trailer that was parked on the side of the off ramp from Interstate 5 south to the Oak Grove rest area, which is about 11 miles just north of Eugene and Springfield, according to the Oregon State Police.

The identities of the people that died and the girl that was injured have not been released by the authorities, but the state police did indicate that the girl is somewhere between the ages of 4 and 11 years old.

Sergeant Michael Berland of the Oregon State Police said that a trooper saw the accident before it was even reported and was able to get the girl out of the vehicle that was pinned underneath the tractor-trailer.

Sergeant Berland further stated that the trooper who responded to the scene of the accident acted very heroic in doing what he could to get the girl out of the vehicle before the wreckage went up in flames.

It has been reported that the accident happened at around 4 p.m.
