Two People Injured in School Bus Accident

Two people were taken to a Michigan hospital after an accident involving a Dean Transportation school bus on Friday afternoon.

Details about the School Bus Accident

Around 2:30 p.m. Friday, at the intersection of Harper Road and College Road in Mason, Michigan, a Dean Transportation bus was headed westbound on Harper when it stopped at a stop sign.

According to WLNS News, the bus then entered into the intersection when it was hit by a jeep.

Of the six children that were on the bus at the time of the accident, one child and the bus driver were taken to Sparrow Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

The rest of the students were transferred to another school bus the parent permission.

According to WLNS News an official stated that the bus driver is at fault for the accident.

  • From 2004-2013, there were a total of 340,039 fatal motor vehicle accidents in the United States, and of those, only 1,214 were classified as “school-transportation-related.”
  • The majority of fatal accidents involved with school buses result in the death of a person in another vehicle besides the school bus that was involved in the accident.
