Two Seriously Injured in Westminster Explosion

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a building explosion in Westminster, MD on Thursday afternoon, according to WBOC 10 News. Two women were seriously injured in the explosion.

  • Fire officials responded to a building explosion around 2:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Silver Run Valley Road near Westminster, MD.
  • The explosion triggered a two-alarm fire that took around an hour for about 50 firefighters to extinguish.
  • Two women were seriously injured in the blast. One was taken to the Johns Hopkins Burn Center in Baltimore; the other woman was taken to Shock Trauma also in Baltimore.
  • The building where the explosion occurred housed Premier Financial Solutions.
