Details about the School Bus Accident

The Salina Post is reporting that two students were injured in a school bus accident that happened just after 6:30 a.m. on Monday morning in Geary County, Kansas.

The Gary County Sheriff’s Department originally reported that a 1999 GMC school bus was being driven by Dana Pleas, of Junction City, at the time of the accident. The bus was heading west along the 14000 block of Moyer Ranch Road.

While traveling west, the driver of the school bus lost control of the vehicle and then hit an embankment on the side of the road.

Two children in the bus were taken to the Geary Community Hospital for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries that they sustained as a result of being involved in the school bus accident.

No other details about the circumstances of the accident or the condition of the driver were made immediately available by the sheriff’s office in Geary County.
