A cyclist was hit and killed in a hit and run accident that happened in Louisiana.

Details about the Fatal Bicycle Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that state police in Louisiana are investigating the death of one man whose body was found in the roadway of the Earhart Expressway. According to Senior State Trooper Melissa Matey, the unidentified man’s body was found just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday near the Jefferson-Orleans parish line.

Matey has stated that the victim was riding a bicycle near the shoulder of the roadway when he was hit from behind. Troopers also believe that the man was hit a second time by another vehicle after the initial collision.

Due to evidence collected at the scene of the accident, one of the vehicles that hit the man is believed to be a Toyota with front end damage. An autopsy is being performed and an investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
