Vets Sue Railroad, Trucking Co. Over Train Crash

At least two victims of the Midland, Texas Veteran’s Day Parade train crash have filed suit against a railroad and a trucking company over last month’s deadly accident.

Details of the Deadly Texas Train Crash

  • The accident occurred on November 15, 2012.
  • A truck carrying veterans and their spouses in a Veteran’s Day parade was struck by a train while crossing the railroad tracks.
  • 4 veterans were killed and several more were injured.

Parade Crash Victims File Lawsuit

 According to Fox News, the details of the lawsuit are as follows:

  • Two veterans, Richard Sanchez and Todd King, and their wives are seeking unspecified damages for the accident.
  • The plaintiffs are claiming negligence on the part of both Union Pacific Railroad Inc. and Smith Industries Inc.
  • Smith Industries Inc. is the company that provided the truck that carried the veterans.
  • The victims and their attorneys are also seeking to preserve the train's “black box” and video recordings from the truck to help prove their case.
