As reported by NewsChannel 3, a tourist was struck by a vehicle while bicycling with his wife on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach on Monday morning.

About the Virgina Beach Bicycle Accident

  • According to Virginia Beach Police, a 65-year-old man identified as Pierre Foget was bicycling with his wife along the 1200 block of Shore Drive when the accident happened.
  • Foget and his wife were riding in the bicycle lane when he veered into the far left lane of traffic and was struck by a car.
  • Foget was pronounced dead at the scene. He and his wife were on vacation from Quebec where they are residents.
  • Police do not believe speed or alcohol to have been factors.
