Voltage Detectors Recalled-Shock and Burn Hazard

Grant Hill5 months ago

Southwire has issued a recall for 1.2 million voltage detectors due to shock and burn hazards.

About the Voltage Detectors

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has stated the detectors can give a false “no voltage” reading which poses a shock, burn, and electrocution hazard to consumers.

It is recommended that consumers contact Southwire for a free replacement voltage detector.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the faulty voltage detectors.

Description of the Detectors

  • The recalled voltage detectors are non-contact detectors
  • About 6 inches long and 2 inches in circumference
  • Goldish brown in color.
  • The recalled model numbers are 40110N and 40120N
  • Recalled units were sold at home and hardware stores nationwide for about $15
