susan_harr4 years ago

Volvo is recalling cars and buses for various safety issues which may increase the risk of personal injury to passengers in the case of an auto crash or bus accident.

Volvo 9700 Transit Bus Recall

  • According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Volvo 9700 Transit Buses (model year 2009-2011) are being recalled because the passenger seats may not be properly mounted to the vehicle structure.
  • This could increase the risk of personal injury to passengers in a crash.
  • Questions or concerns may be addressed to the NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.

Volvo S80 Recall

  • According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the S80 vehicles (model year 2011-2013) are being recalled because of a software error in the automatic transmission that may prevent downshifting.
  • This issue may result in decreased engine RPMS and possible engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
  • The recall is expected to begin on or before July 19, 2012.
  • Customers with questions should contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552.
