A motorcyclist was hospitalized following accident in West Hartford.

Details about the Motorcycle Accident

WTNH News is reporting that the driver of a motorcycle was sent to the hospital to be treated for injuries after an accident that happened on Tuesday morning in which the motorcyclist collided with another driver.

According to the West Hartford Police Department, 19-year-old Maleek Masood, was the driver of the motorcycle when he ran a red light and hit a vehicle that was pulling out of the Kingswood-Oxford School on Trout Brook Drive on Tuesday morning.

Officials further stated that Masood was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was transported to the Hartford Hospital to be treated for several lacerations sustained in the accident. Masood was also wearing eye protection.

Both the driver and the passenger who were in the other vehicle at the time of the accident were evaluated by emergency medical officials at the scene of the incident but did not sustain and injuries and were not taken to the hospital.
