Details about the Accident Involving the School Bus

A woman was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in North County after she hit a school bus that was full of children at the time of the accident, according to the Daily Journal.

Desloge Police Chief James Bullock says that the bus was going east on Oak Street at about 3:30 p.m. when the bus had to put out its stop sign and turned on its lights.

When the bus had stopped by the railroad tracks, another vehicle, being driven by a 35-year-old woman came up behind the bus and hit the rear end of it. There was minor damage to both of the vehicles, and at the time of the report, there were no injuries from the passengers in either vehicle.

The students in the bus were transferred onto another bus to be taken home.

Bullock said that there was a passenger in the other vehicle that may have been having a seizure at the time of the accident and was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The driver, however, was arrested and cited for careless and imprudent driving.

According to Bullock, there may have been more that was involved in the accident, but the driver of the vehicle refused to submit to anything.
