A woman was fatally injured during a morning traffic jam in Iberville Parish, Louisiana on Tusday.

About the Fatal Traffic Jam

According to The Acadiana Advocate, a four vehicle crash left one woman dead Tuesday morning in Iberville Parish, Louisiana.

Tracy Franques, 33, was driving a Ford Focus when she was involved in a multi-vehicle pile-up. The accident happened after traffic was stalled due to a morning traffic jam on eastbound I-10 near Ramah.

Preliminary reports indicate a 2007 International box truck being driven John Witt attempted to avoid a vehicle that had stopped in front of him, only to veer into Franques’ vehicle. Franques’ focus was then struck by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and finally an 18-wheeler.

Franques was restrained at the time of the collision, but still sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7 am. The incident remains under investigation.
