Woman Identified in Barron County 18-Wheeler Accident

Authorities in Barron County are investigating a fatal trucking accident that left one woman dead Wednesday afternoon.

Details about the Car Accident Involving the 18-Wheeler                      

According to WEAU News in Barron, Wisconsin, 34-year-old Eva Edwards of Turtle Lake died in an accident around 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

WEAU News reports that the Barron County Sheriff’s Department said that another driver, 24-year-old Dillion Merlak of Minocqua, was driving a tanker truck that was carrying propane when he tried to turn left onto U.S. Highway 8 just east of 17th Street.

The Barron Country Sheriff’s Department reports that Merlak failed to see the vehicle that Edwards was driving, and her vehicle collided with the back of the tanker. Edwards was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Investigators are currently trying to figure out if there are any other important factors that contributed to the accident on Highway 8
