Woman Injured in Accident with Fuel Truck

One woman from Spotyslvania County was killed in an accident that happened on Wednesday.

Details about the Fatal Accident

The Richmond Times-Dispatch is reporting that a woman from Spotsylvania was killed in an accident that happened on Wednesday after her vehicle hit a fuel truck along Courthouse Road near Brokenburg, according to state police.

 The woman has been identified as 45-year-old Christine Renee Gibbs, who was ejected from her vehicle and was killed at the scene of the accident at about 1:25 p.m. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The woman was reportedly heading west when she ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and hit a freightliner fuel truck that was heading in the opposite direction. The driver of the fuel truck was taken to the Mary Washington Hospital, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

At this time, it is unknown what caused the woman to drive off the road prior to the accident.
