Woman Killed by Hit and Run SUV after Motorcycle Accident

Police are looking for the driver who ran over and killed a motorcyclist over the weekend.

Details about the Fatal Motorcycle Accident

WSCOTV News is reporting that police are currently looking for the driver of the vehicle that ran over and killed a motorcyclist and didn’t stop after the accident that happened over the weekend.

According to state police, they were called to Interstate 85 near Statesville Avenue just before 4 a.m. on Sunday. According to investigators, 41-year-old Carlos Stewart and his fiancé were riding their motorcycle in the northbound lanes of the interstate, when the back tire of the vehicle blew out, causing the couple to lose control and crash.

The woman fell off the vehicle and towards the shoulder of the road and received minor injuries, but, according to troopers, she was then fatally hit by an SUV. Investigators are currently looking for the driver of the SUV, who did not stop at the accident scene.
