Woman Killed in ATV Accident

A North Carolina man has been charged with DUI after an ATV accident killed his wife.

Details about the Fatal ATV Accident

WFMY News is reporting that a man from Scurry County has been charged with driving under the influence after a deadly accident involving an ATV.

According to police from Dobson, Jonathan and Rose Dalton were riding their ATV on Sunday afternoon along Gilly Road when the ATV flipped onto its side, causing the couple to fall off the vehicle. Police further stated that Jonathan was driving the ATV at the time of the accident.

Emergency first responders say the couple were not wearing their helmets during the accident; 46-year-old Rose Dalton to die from her injuries. Jonathan Dalton has been charged with driving under the influence and for operating an unauthorized vehicle on a state maintained road.

Troopers from the highway patrol are waiting on the district attorney to assess the remainder of the charges against Mr. Dalton.
