Woman Killed in Carson City Pedestrian Accident

A 46-year-old Milissa Victorino was killed in a tragic pedestrian accident in Carson City.

According to KOLO-TV, a white van was headed south on Fairview Drive and approaching the intersection with Gordon Street in the slow lane. The van hit Milissa Victorino as she was walking westbound in the marked crosswalk at Fairview Drive and Gordon Street.

She was taken to the hospital, but died of injuries sustained from the accident.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has taken over investigation of accident from Carson City due to the seriousness of the accident.

According the investigators, it’s not clear if the drive or the victim were impaired.

The Sheriff’s office reports that this is the second fatal accident that occurred in this area this year and reminds pedestrians to remain cautious of vehicle traffic while crossing streets.
