Woman Killed in McLennan Head-On Collision

A woman was fatally injured Friday morning after her vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle in rural McLennan County.

Details of the Fatal Accident

According to KWTX, 73-year-old Barbara Jean Scheler was traveling on U.S. Highway 84, northeast of Waco, around 9:30 am when her Buick Century collided with a 2004 Ford Focus.

Scheler was killed in the collision. The driver of the Focus was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center with serious injuries – his not was not released.

Authorities are investigating the incident and are trying to determine what caused the accident.
