A woman was killed in an accident involving a disable vehicle in San Antonio.

Details about the Disabled Vehicle Accident

The San Antonio Express-News is reporting that a flat tire is believed to have led to the death of a woman who was involved in an accident involving an SUV on Wednesday evening on the east side of San Antonio, according to investigators.

The victim is believed to have been in her mid-30s. She had her vehicle parked on the left shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Ackerman Road when an SUV hit her vehicle from behind at about 8:50 p.m., according to San Antonio Police.

The San Antonio Police further indicated that detectives were working to determine whether or not she was standing outside her vehicle when it was hit by the SUV. The impact of the SUV sent the SUV rolling over, and landing upside down, according to investigators.

Both the woman as well as the man who was driving the SUV were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 9:30 p.m. The man who was driving the SUV suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
