Worker Killed by Tree Limb in Connecticut
About the Fatal Connecticut Accident
According to NBC Connecticut, Cline was cutting trees for Connecticut Light & Power when he was hit and killed by a falling tree limb.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Lanouette Street and Prospect Avenue just before 9:30 am.
One of Cline’s coworkers cut a tree limb which then swung and struck Cline, knocking him to the ground. The branch then fell on top of Cline.
Cline was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was later died from his injuries.
Cline was working for Tree Inc., a Houston based company that had been hired to cut trees for the utility company.

Following information provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS):
- Preliminary counts indicate that at least 4,383 U.S. workers were killed on the job in 2012.
- Another 3 million non-fatal workplace injuries and illnesses were recorded in the private industry in 2012.
- Fatal work injuries in private construction increased by 5 percent in 2012 with 775 construction related fatalities recorded – up from 738 in 2011.
- The number of fatal injuries involving workers under the age of 16 nearly doubled from 2011 to 2012.
