A child was hit and killed while riding a bike in Indian Land on Tuesday night.

Details about the Fatal Child Accident

WSOCTV News is reporting on the wrongful death of a second-grade child  who was killed on Wednesday after sustaining injuries during a collision between his bike and a vehicle.

The accident happened on Tuesday evening off Glen Laurel Drive, and the new organization did not release the name of the child at the request of the child’s mother.

A letter from school officials at the Harrisburg Elementary School explained the situation to the parents and indicated that they were allowing parents to speak with their own children about the sensitive situation.

According to Highway Patrol, the boy rode through a stop sign and was hit by a Honda Accord just after 6 p.m. on the corner of Glen Laurel Driver and Mercer Street. Officials say that the boy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
