Young Bicyclist Injured in Car Accident
A young boy was critically injured on Wednesday when he was riding his bicycle that was hit by a car.
Details about the Bicycle Accident
According to police, the accident happened at about 10 p.m. along FM 529/Spencer Road and Blenheim Palace.
Witnesses of the accident told police that the 6-year-old boy and his friend were riding their bicycles in a moving lane of traffic when an oncoming vehicle hit the boy. The driver of the vehicle, described as distraught by witnesses, stopped to render aid and spoke with police.
The area of the road where the accident happened is dark, and the driver of the vehicle told police that he or she did not see the boy until it was too late.
At this time, charges are not expected to be filed against the driver. The boy was critically injured but is expected to survive.
