Young Boy Injured in Bicycle Accident in Berkeley, Calif.
About the Berkeley Bicycle Accident
A spokeswoman for the Berkeley Police Department, Jennifer Coats, told reporters a call was received at 4:03 p.m. on Monday alerting authorities to an accident involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.
Emergency crews arrived to the scene of the accident – the intersection of Bancroft Way and Acton Street in West Berkeley – to find a seven-year-old boy pinned underneath a blue Saturn SUV. The child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is under investigation. Police said the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
