A native Houstonian, Ms. Brionne Kelly earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she received a Dean’s Scholarship. In law school, she took part in the SMU Civil/Consumer Clinic and gained hands-on experience representing clients in eviction matters. She was also a member of the Black Law Students Association and Women in Law, and a student member of the Dallas Bar Association.
Before she became a lawyer, Ms. Kelly earned Texas teaching certifications in English as a Second Language and Early Childhood through Sixth Grade. She then spent eight years teaching first through third grade in public schools in the Greater Houston area. Teaching gave her a lot of practice communicating with people from diverse backgrounds, balancing competing responsibilities, resolving conflicts, and adapting when circumstances changed quickly. Her commitment to service led her to the law. Since then, she has worked on civil matters including family law, employment law, and school law. Her work has included drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and agreements, conducting client intake interviews, helping with case preparation and investigations, and writing legal memoranda on complex legal and factual issues.
Ms. Kelly was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2025 and is proud to practice law in her hometown as an attorney in Thomas J. Henry Law’s Houston office. She brings earnestness, adaptability, and careful attention to detail to her work. Outside the office, Ms. Kelly is a classically trained soprano. She has performed with the Dallas Symphony Chorus, Mercury Chamber Orchestra, and Houston Chamber Choir, and she has been a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus since 2018.
