Mr. Darren Ligon earned his Juris Doctor at Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in real estate from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He has been licensed by the State Bar of Texas since 1992 and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas since 1994.
Mr. Ligon brings more than thirty years of litigation, trial, and attorney management experience to his work. He began his legal career managing a branch office and representing clients in personal injury litigation, handling client consultations, case evaluations, discovery, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. He then served as an assistant district attorney and special prosecutor for the El Paso County District Attorney’s Office, where he tried more than one hundred jury cases involving homicide and other serious felony matters and appeared regularly for investigations, witness preparation, hearings, and negotiations. He spent much of his career with the Federal Public Defender for the Western District of Texas, first as an assistant federal public defender appearing daily in federal court, later as a supervisory assistant federal public defender overseeing roughly twenty-five attorneys and legal professionals across the El Paso and Pecos divisions, and finally as senior litigator and director of training, where he built and led continuing legal education programs for more than five hundred attorneys throughout the district while carrying a full federal litigation caseload. He also founded and ran his own El Paso practice and most recently served as managing attorney for a multistate law firm, directing legal operations, attorney performance, and case strategy across offices in five states.
As senior attorney manager with Thomas J. Henry Law, Mr. Ligon leads and develops attorneys handling car accidents, truck accidents, company vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, and premises liability accidents. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
