Don Menzies

Mr. Don Menzies earned his Juris Doctor from UNT Dallas College of Law. There, he was a Senior Editor of the Law Review, competed in moot court and trial advocacy, and was named to the Board of Advocates. He also made the Dean’s List and won a CALI Award. Before law school, he earned a Master of Arts in English and American literature, summa cum laude, from Angelo State University, where he was a Carr Scholar and a Texas Opportunity Graduate Fellow. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University.

Menzies began his legal career as a civil litigation and mediation attorney at a North Texas firm. During law school, he represented clients as a student lawyer at the university’s Community Lawyering Center, took part in its mediation clinic, and interned with the Dallas City Attorney’s Office. Before law, he spent many years in education. He led a K-12 school in North Texas as Head of School, where he handled high-conflict negotiations and dispute resolution with employees, families, and government agencies. He also evaluated charter school applicants for the Texas Education Agency and taught writing at the University of Texas at Dallas.

At Thomas J. Henry Law, Menzies brings his litigation training, negotiation skills, and years of building trust with people from many backgrounds to advocating for injured clients and their families. He is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He also volunteers as a high school and collegiate mock trial judge and provides pro bono mediation through the Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center. Outside the office, he enjoys resistance training, boxing, motorcycling, and experimental aviation.
