Donald Morehart

Mr. Donald Morehart earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. While there, he served as president of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity and was a member of the Order of the Golden Shears honor society. He then earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Complex Litigation and completed internships with the Lubbock County District Attorney and the Tahoka Family Law Clinic. He has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1988.

Mr. Morehart has more than three decades of legal experience. He started his career as an Assistant Potter County Attorney in Amarillo. He then served as an Assistant Texas Attorney General in the Criminal Law Enforcement Division, handling federal habeas corpus matters before the federal district courts and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. After that, he built a private practice in Austin, handling personal injury, civil, family, and criminal matters in Travis County and surrounding counties, and served as lead counsel on many appeals before the Texas Courts of Appeals. Later, he worked as a staff attorney with the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Office of Regulatory Counsel and as Chief of Litigation for a Central Texas law firm, where he supervised its litigation, including personal injury cases. He also served as a managing attorney with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, providing free civil legal help to low-income residents and mentoring law students.

At Thomas J. Henry Law, Mr. Morehart represents individuals and families who have been injured through the negligence of others. He uses his broad litigation and appellate experience to pursue the compensation his clients deserve.
