John T. Ferjak

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law's San Antonio Office

Mr. John T. Ferjak grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, and he understands firsthand how an accident can change the trajectory of your life.

Mr. Ferjak initially intended to follow in his father’s footsteps and enter the construction trades; however, at age 17 he was involved in a boating accident where the propeller struck both of his legs, leaving him with serious injuries. After a total of six months in the hospital, multiple reconstructive surgeries, skin grafts, and extensive physical therapy, Mr. Ferjak was unable to return to the construction trades.

Mr. Ferjak was encouraged by both his doctor and his attorney to return to school and pursue a different occupation. He ultimately obtained his law degree and began his career as an attorney. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ferjak has owned and operated his own practice and has worked with some of the most prestigious personal injury law firms in Chicago.

Having experienced the long and sometimes frustrating aspect of personal injury litigation as an injured person, Mr. Ferjak takes pride in helping other seriously injured people through the difficult times that follow an accident or injury. He has successfully tried numerous personal injury cases to verdict, presented oral arguments before the Appellate Court for Illinois’s 3rd District, and participated in accident investigation and reconstruction involving commercial and personal vehicles.

Beyond his work as an attorney, Mr. Ferjak was a supervisor for Aurora Emergency Management Agency in Aurora, Illinois with multiple certifications, including traffic incident management, ground search and rescue, water rescue, and level 1 man-tracking. He was awarded for his outstanding service during the COVID emergency by the mayor of Aurora, and he is a certified firearms instructor and active shooter instructor.

As a member of Calvary Church in Naperville, Illinois, Mr. Ferjak volunteered in over 50 international mission trips and supervised security for the church’s 6,500-member congregation.
