Kizuwanda Wyatt

Ms. Kizuwanda Wyatt received her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Fordham University in New York, New York, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Ms. Wyatt was a student leader throughout law school, serving as President of the Black Law Student Association and President of the Student Bar Association. As a 711-licensed student attorney in DePaul’s Misdemeanor Clinic, she represented clients under attorney supervision through client counseling, motion practice, and trial preparation. She interned with the Office of the Solicitor at the U.S. Department of Labor, drafting memoranda supporting workplace safety and wage and hour enforcement, and clerked at a Chicago litigation firm, where she researched insurance defense claims and prepared deposition summaries and medical record abstracts. Her leadership and community service were recognized with a number of law school scholarships and awards.

Prior to joining Thomas J. Henry Law, Ms. Wyatt served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of Chicago Department of Law, where she prosecuted and defended administrative and civil litigation matters and appeared before courts and administrative bodies for hearings, negotiations, and settlement discussions. After relocating to Texas, she practiced as a staff attorney with a nonprofit legal services center in Houston and later as the lead in-office attorney for a Houston firm, carrying a complex caseload, appearing in court on behalf of clients, and supervising support staff. She is admitted to practice in Texas and is also licensed in Illinois, where she is voluntarily inactive.

Since joining the firm, Ms. Wyatt has focused her practice on the representation of clients injured in car accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability accidents, and workplace accidents. She approaches her cases the same way she has approached her entire career, by keeping the client at the center of every decision and working toward practical solutions.

Beyond her work as an attorney, Ms. Wyatt is a member of her church’s Social Justice Ministry and is studying Spanish in order to communicate more directly with the clients she serves.
