Mr. Mark Mathenge earned his Juris Doctor at The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas, where he served as Executive Editor of the American Journal of Criminal Law, Vice President of the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society, and President of First Generation Law Students. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and philosophy from The University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Mathenge built his legal foundation in the courts and in civil litigation. He interned for the Honorable Xavier Rodriguez at the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, where he researched and made recommendations on pending motions, drafted orders, and observed pretrial proceedings and trials alongside the judge and his law clerks. He also interned for the Honorable Gisele Triana at the Texas Third Court of Appeals, preparing memoranda on pending cases and drafting opinions that circulated among the justices. As a summer associate with an Austin firm, he researched and wrote memoranda on landlord and tenant disputes, commercial construction litigation involving businesses, builders, and real estate investors, and collection and nonpayment claims brought by homeowners, contractors, and subcontractors. He also reviewed real estate purchase and closing documents and drafted deeds and financial instruments. Earlier, as an intern with the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, he managed dockets and drafted memoranda for the District Attorney. Before law school, he spent more than a year as a 911 operator with the Austin Police Department, taking emergency calls and directing the response of police, fire, and medical services, work that gave him a direct view of what the first minutes after a serious accident look like for the people involved.
As an attorney with Thomas J. Henry Law, Mr. Mathenge represents clients involved in car accidents, truck accidents, company vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, and premises liability accidents. His time inside both a federal trial court and a state appellate court shapes how he approaches motion practice and written advocacy. Outside the office, he plays guitar, enjoys poker, and reads historical biographies.

I had a great experience! Me and my daughter got in a car accident 2023 and they were able to reach a settlement for us. My favorite aspect was the communication and how much they care. Highly recommend!
