Ms. Monica Guerrero earned her Master of Laws in American Legal Studies, cum laude, at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. She also holds a Bachelor of Law from the Facultad de Jurisprudencia at Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila in Mexico, where she completed a semester of study abroad at the Universidad de Granada in Spain. She has been a licensed attorney in Mexico since September 2020.
Ms. Guerrero brings cross-border legal experience to her work. She spent two years as legal manager with a Monterrey law firm, where she counseled clients on intellectual property and corporate matters, drafted contracts, nondisclosure agreements, and private agreements, supervised office processes and procedures, and negotiated and mediated with state agencies. Earlier, as a legal assistant with a Mexico City company, she advised on labor and corporate law questions and prepared, analyzed, and reviewed customer and employee contracts. She began her career as a paralegal, first with a taxpayer rights protection agency in Coahuila and then with a Saltillo law firm, conducting legal research, handling administrative legal work, maintaining confidential case files and databases, and negotiating with state agencies on behalf of clients. That combination of contract analysis, negotiation, and direct agency advocacy shapes how she approaches a case today.
