Nickie Okolo

Ms. Nkechinyelum “Nickie” Okolo received her Juris Doctor from WMU Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

Ms. Okolo was recognized for her academic work throughout law school, earning Dean’s List honors in multiple terms and a Certificate of Merit in Gun Control Law. She also served as a student extern with the Office of Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service in Detroit and Lansing, where she conducted case research and supported attorneys on active matters. Her work there was recognized with a Department of the Treasury Manager’s Award.

Ms. Okolo brings a background in public service and direct client support to her legal practice. She spent two years as a program coordinator for a Lansing community health initiative, enrolling food-insecure young people in the program, administering a produce voucher exchange, and building relationships with prospective community partners; she previously supervised an afterschool literacy program serving students in kindergarten through sixth grade. She also worked as a policy enforcement associate reviewing online video and other media for policy violations, and she supported a San Antonio primary care practice in billing and office administration.

Since joining the firm, Ms. Okolo has focused her practice on the representation of clients injured in car accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability accidents, and workplace accidents. She is fluent in Spanish and communicates directly with the clients she serves.
