LG Recalls Stove That Caused 28 House Fires

The Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) announced that about 500,000 LG electric stoves are being recalled due to fire hazard. If you have these products, be sure to act quickly as it can be a potential fire hazard in your home.

What is being recalled?

LG Slide-In and Freestanding Ranges are being recalled. Over two dozen models are included in this recall. These ranges were sold at Best Buy, Costco, and Home Depot between 2015 and January 2025.

Be sure to check the model number on your stove. They are usually located inside the oven door or storage drawer on the bottom of the oven. 

Why is it being recalled?

Front-mounted knobs on the stoves can be activated by accident by humans and pets, posing a fire hazard. The CPSC received 86 reports of unintentional activations that have caused extensive property damage over $340,000.

What should you do?

Keep children and pets away from the knobs and ensure there are no objects on the stove when it is not in use. Make sure to check the knobs before leaving home or going to bed.

Use the Lock Out/Control Lock function on the range control panel to disable the range when it is not in use.
