General Scholarship Essay Advice

Before you begin writing your leadership scholarship essay, consider these few important points:

Be Specific
The best applicants understand what it means to be a leader and who have demonstrated leadership traits and qualities in their own lives. Don’t just write that you have a desire to be a leader; share vivid examples of how you exemplify leadership.  Avoid providing a list of accomplishments; rather, use specific examples to paint a detailed picture of you — the leader.

Proofread Carefully
Your essay should be in your own words and free from grammatical, spelling, and syntax errors. We are expecting a clean and polished final draft. Use the resources at your disposal to ensure your essay is error-free and ready for submission.
