2019 Thomas J. Henry Turkey Giveaway Happening This Saturday!
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (November 18, 2019) – Texas attorney and philanthropist Thomas J. Henry will be giving away thousands of Thanksgiving turkeys this Saturday as part of his firm’s annual Turkey Giveaway. The giveaway follows October’s Bark in the Park Pet Expos in Corpus Christi and San Antonio (both of which raised money for local, no-kill animal shelters) and comes just two weeks after Austin Elevates, a massive two-day art and music experience Thomas J. Henry hosted for the benefit of Austin nonprofits, including SAFE Alliance, Superhero Kids and St. David’s Foundation Community Fund.
The free public giveaway (with four pick-up locations in the Coastal Bend) will take place Saturday, November 23. Pickup locations include Alice, San Diego, Freer, and Corpus Christi, Texas.
A special giveaway for pre-approved churches and non-profit organizations will take place Friday, November 22 at the firm’s office in downtown Corpus Christi.
Thomas J. Henry started the Turkey Giveaway in Corpus Christi, Texas more than 20 years ago. Over the years, additional pickup locations were added in Alice, San Diego, and Freer in order to accommodate even more South Texas residents.
The Corpus Christi giveaway remains the largest giveaway location, with thousands of individuals waiting in a line that winds around Thomas J. Henry’s Starr Street office and through downtown Corpus Christi. Oftentimes, the first individuals begin lining up in front of the firm’s office the night before the giveaway.
In recent years, the Corpus Christi event has been expanded to include local vendors and a free kids zone with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a petting zoo, clowns, carnival games, free face painting, free popcorn, and more.
