SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 2, 2017) – The Thomas J. Henry Bark in the Park Howl-o-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Expo is scheduled for Saturday, October 7! Every year, hundreds of pet owners gather at San Antonio’s Sunken Garden Theater to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and raise money for local animal shelters.
Contest prizes range from $50 for all semi-finalists all the way up to $1,000 for our 1st Place winner! This year, the final round will be decided by a panel of Celebrity Guest Judges which will include Danny Green of the San Antonio Spurs, Fred Reyes (aka Rey Feo LXIX), Kimberly Crawford of FOX San Antonio’s Daytime @ Nine, and Leslie Bohl of News 4 WOAI Today. Additional gifts and prizes will be handed out to contestants and spectators throughout the day.
Don’t have a pet? Don’t worry! You can still come out and enjoy the family-friendly event filled with games, music, prizes, vendors, a kid’s zone, and concessions from some of San Antonio’s best food trucks! It’s going to be a beautiful weekend in San Antonio, and this is an event you don’t want to miss.
The event is free to the public, and all proceeds from the event, including contest registration fees and vendor fees, go directly to San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA) and Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL).
