The Gardens at Cole Park Dedication Ceremony

Corpus Christi, Texas – The Gardens at Cole Park will be dedicated to the citizens of Corpus Christi in a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Cole Park on Saturday July 21, 2012 at 1:00pm sharp. The Association has worked for nearly 3 years to complete this signature project as a gift to the City of Corpus Christi, its residents, and the visitors to the City’s premier 43-acre park.

The Title Sponsor, Thomas J. Henry, donated nearly $23,000 to make the dream a reality with additional donations of $5,000 each from AEP, HEB and the Devary Durrill Foundation.  The Garden features 70 Earth Kind roses, trailing lantana, 20 natal plums, 3 Sabal palms and 6 Mediterranean fan palms. A professional watering system and beautiful retaining wall enhance the colorful plants.

The beauty of this garden will enhance the quality of life in our lovely community. For nearly 44 years, Beautify Corpus Christi has worked toward our mission to “create a clean, beautiful environment to enhance the quality of life for residents and the enjoyment of visitors”. The all-volunteer organization hosted events and solicited sponsors to complete this project after receiving permission from the City Parks & Recreation Department and the City Council in late 2009.

We hope you will join us at this important event and showcase the hard work of our Board of Directors and the donors that made this attraction possible. Any questions should be directed to Daiquiri Richard at 361-960-1475.
