Thomas J. Henry and TEXAS YES Donate 85,000 Boxes of School Supplies to 172 Schools Across The State of Texas
TEXAS (August, 2023) – With the start of a new school year, Thomas J. Henry Law partnered with TEXAS YES to donate over 85,000 kits of school supplies to schools all over the lone star state.
TEXAS YES is built on the idea that by providing 85,000 Texas school children with the recommended school supplies and resources in the classroom, we can help them achieve long-term academic success. Since 1998, TEXAS YES has supplied students and teachers at Title 1 schools with school supply kits, grants and greater access to literacy.
This year, another 85,000 school supply kits will be distributed to students across the state:
- 10,000 kits – Corpus Christi
- Corpus Christi and Gregory Portland ISD
- 10,000 kits – Austin
- Del Valle and Manor ISD
- 35,000 kits – Dallas / Fort Worth area
- Dallas, Fort Worth, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD
- 30,000 kits – San Antonio
- Harlandale, Edgewood, San Antonio, South San Antonio, Southwest ISD
578,000 students have received a FREE school supply kit since inception of the program, and Thomas J. Henry has supported more than 348,000 of those students across 172 schools.
“We cannot expect our state’s children to be successful unless they have access to the school supplies they need,” said Thomas J. Henry. “It has been my pleasure to partner with TEXAS YES year-after-year to ensure our state’s students have the back-to-school essentials necessary to jumpstart another fulfilling school year.”
Items included in each kit: colored pencils, crayons, notebook paper, spiral notebook, big eraser, glue stick, folders with pockets, folders with pockets and brads, a ruler, pencils, ballpoint pens in black and red, and a box of tissues.
