Thomas J. Henry Turkey Giveaway Kicks Off This Friday
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (November 18, 2014) — This Friday marks the official kickoff of the 2014 Thomas J. Henry Turkey Giveaway. Semi-trucks containing thousands of turkeys will be parked outside our offices as we arrange a special pick-up for churches and non-profit organizations. Come watch as we give away the first turkeys of the season to our local churches and organizations. Interested media is invited to attend.
This is all in preparation for the main event on Saturday (November 22) during which we will give away thousands of Thanksgiving turkeys to residents in Corpus Christi, Freer, and Alice, Texas.
For more than 15 years, South Texas residents have participated in the Thomas J. Henry Turkey Giveaway, coming for the free turkey, and taking away much more. More than 300,000 families have been affected since the first Turkey Giveaway and it is their individual stories that make this event worthwhile for everyone involved.
Additions in recent years include additional pick-up sites in Alice and Freer and an expanded Kid’s Zone (at the Corpus Christi location) with Santa Claus, a petting zoo, clowns, carnival games, face painting and more.
